Building a circular economy is part of our sustainability strategy to move towards a more sustainable future.

By investing in a waste management infrastructure, we can reduce waste and maximise recycling. This not only helps the environment by preventing furniture items from going to landfills, where they can take many years to decompose, but it also provides jobs in the collection and processing industries.

Furniture recycling

As a responsible retailer, we believe that recycling old furniture is an important consideration: we understand that it can be difficult to dispose of, but especially when you are looking for an appropriate way to recycle it.

When you purchase from us and you need your old furniture removed, we can offer to recycle as many pieces as we can for a small cost*.  With our service, the old furniture is removed from the space and the new is set exactly where you want it.

Additionally, all packaging is removed without charge and taken away for disposal – we will recycle as much as we can. We have partnered with SUEZ to ensure no packaging goes to landfill.

Showroom energy

Our showrooms all have solar panels installed as an alternative source of electricity. We chose Naked Solar Ltd to supply them. Providing power to our showrooms using this method of generation saves fossil fuels and nuclear power.

Showroom lighting

All the lights in our showrooms are LEDs because of their longer lifespan, which results in less waste and carbon emissions. LED lights are more energy efficient than regular light bulbs since they utilise significantly less electricity. They provide light quality that is on a par with or better than other types of lighting. LED lights also produce almost no UV emissions.

Our suppliers

Products should be made with a long-term, sustainable use in mind. This can be accomplished by using strong, durable materials.

In an effort to reduce our carbon impact, we locally source as many high-quality British products as we can – e.g. Vispring in Plymouth. Additionally, we work alongside European businesses that share our beliefs about protecting the environment and minimising our environmental footprint.

Many of our brands strive to use high-quality and environmentally friendly materials. A lot of these products bear quality assurance labels – e.g. Red Tractor for certified wool from Hypnos Beds.
